Bocado's Tapas Bar: Your Next Date Night

Looking for your next date night spot in Worcester? Bocado's Tapas Wine Bar on Winter Street was one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in a long time. A fashionably upscale Spanish restaurant with a lounge feel, serving tapas and excellent wine and sangria. I visited this spot with my boyfriend, and this place is not talked about enough.
The restaurant has a very European feel, with a dimly lit romantic kind of vibe. While casual, it still feels slightly more upscale than your typical restaurant. If you need a destination in the Worcester area for a nice night out, this is your place.
If you haven't heard of or been introduced to the tapas experience, you're missing out. Blogger Jessica Bowler writes, "a 'tapa' is simply a small portion of food. Anything can be served tapas style! When you go for tapas, you’ll end up ordering lots of small plates and sharing. This way, you can try a selection of different dishes all at once" (Bowler, 2018).
I tried their house red wine, and their homemade peach sangria; both fantastic. For food, their specialty is the "Bocado Experience", which my boyfriend and I chose.
The "experience for two people" was priced at $90. While it seems pricey, you definitely get your moneys worth. This comes with your choice of charcuterie board, paella, four tapas, and a dessert. We chose the fried goat cheese charcuterie board to start, which was absolutely delicious. We then got our tapas meals: bacon wrapped scallops, calamari, steak over rice and beans, and brisket served with mashed potatoes. We also chose their classic paella containing: mussels, little necks, shrimp, chorizo, and chicken.
Absolutely delicious was an understatement. The sea scallops were juicy and full of flavor, the brisket was perfectly tender, and after all this food we were served house-made churros with a warm chocolate dipping sauce.
I absolutely love tapas because I prefer the variety over one large meal. It's a fantastic way to try new foods for people who are timid in ordering something they're unsure they'll like. Click here for a peek at the online menu.
